BUDS that dry up before seeing the light of day. Lives that waste away having had no chance to feel the beauty and fragrance of existence. Parents who feel helpless and depressed at seeing their dear children become a burden on the family and society. Communities that are condemned to be helpless onlookers. This situation prevails in almost all the villages.

The experience of Venganoor

was no different. One is shocked to learn that within the boundaries of this tiny Panchayath, measuring barely 6 sq kms, there are as many as 72 such cases. A project called ‘BUDS’ was the response of the Grama Panchayath to this problem.
